ISfTeH: Telemedicine and eHealth in Poland: Progress, Challenges, and Future Directions

Wyróżnione

The International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH), in collaboration with the Polish Telemedicine and e-Health Society, invites participants to an upcoming webinar  (2026-04-13 12:00UTC online) devoted to recent developments in telemedicine, eHealth, and the broader digital transformation of healthcare in Poland.

The event forms part of the expanding ISfTeH webinar series organized by its national member societies. For readers of the Finnish Journal of eHealth and eWelfare, it may be seen as a continuation of the international exchange initiated by the January 2026 webinar, Effectiveness of Digital Health Care Services – Case Studies from Finland. That session brought together distinguished speakers from Finland, including leaders in academia and healthcare, who presented practical insights and real-world examples on the effectiveness of digital health services. Our upcoming Polish webinar offers a national perspective, focusing on Poland’s recent experience in digital health development.

The webinar will present Poland as a case study of dynamic change in digitally enabled healthcare. Particular attention will be given to the growth of teleconsultations, the implementation of e-prescriptions, the development of national eHealth infrastructure, and the emergence of AI-supported solutions in clinical practice. The discussion will address key challenges, including interoperability, quality evaluation, regulation, physician education, and the evolving role of Clinical Informatics and Digital Medicine -a specialty for physicians.

The draft programme includes contributions from presenters representing academia, professional organizations, public institutions, and industry. Together, these contributions will offer a broad overview of current progress in Polish telemedicine and eHealth, while also reflecting on unresolved systemic barriers, examples of practical innovation, and possible future directions.

More broadly, the webinar reflects ISfTeH’s continuing effort to strengthen international dialogue among national member societies and to share country-based experiences that may inform digital health policy, research, and practice across Europe and beyond.

Date: 13 April 2026 (Monday)
Time: 12:00 UTC / 14:00 CEST
Format: Online

Further details and registration information will be shared through ISfTeH communication channels.

eGeH 2025 / DASSAIM 2025

Dear Colleagues,

In attach the last call for the eGeH (eGovernment&eHealth), conference relating the innovation digital technology, as ICT and AI in Public Administration and Healthcare services in prevention, monitoring and epidemiological followup after disasters. The merting, on dite and on line, will be in Hospital of Desio (Italy) on July 10, 2025, 49 years after the pollution of dioxine and 5 years after the Covid 19 pandemic.

We invite you also to the Data Analytics, Statistical Software and Artificial Intelligence in Medicine on July 11-12, 2025, in Desio Hospital. The tutorial is open to the Group of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine members and in attach the registration for membership. On June 26th 2025 a Workshop W14 will take place at Università di Pavia/Ospedale Policlinico San Matteo. Calls in PDF are attached below.

Generative Artificial Intelligence is making significant technological and applicative progress in all sectors and strongly also in medicine.

Last year, AI was officially recognized with the awarding of the 2024 Nobel Prize for Physics to 2 AI experts, the physicist Hopfield who from the 70s and 80s conducted in-depth researchs on the artificial neuron and neural networks, and the computer scientist Hinton who since the 90s has developed studies on the ML and Deep Learning models that are the basis of today’s AI.

This new AI, compared to the past one based on production rules and logical reasoning, is creating, and will leave more in the near future, various consequences that will profoundly modify human and social life, the economy and work, culture and the natural environment itself.

Today’s cognitive and ontological revolution with AI, acts on the work and decision-making processes typical of human reasoning and creativity, which can be performed autonomously by new systems, consisting of computers, machines and intelligent robots, etc.

AI applications in medivine can give many benefits in terms of treatments, support to diagnosis, therapies, disease prevention, monitoring and health rehabilitation. That is, in medicine the benefits of AI could be many in terms of diagnostic predictions, therapeutic and rehabilitative improvements.

Hoping in your interest
Best regards
Francesco Sicurello
